Yoga protects against inflammatory diseases
A 2015 trial demonstrates how a regular practice of yoga can protect the individual against inflammatory diseases by favorably altering pro-inflammatory cytokine levels. This study is also encouraging as it suggests that a yoga practice sustained over many years increases the resilience of the body against diseases caused by stress.

The benefit of movement-based therapies for older adults
A 2015 review looks at how movement based therapies in general, yoga included, influence older adults with breast cancer, schizophrenia, heart failure, and lower back pain, and found across the board that yoga, tai chi, and qigong help with health related quality of life in each and every group
